    FAASA AVIATION

    FAASA AVIATION, headquarters of the company, was founded in 1966 by the veteran pilot Sebastián Almagro, under the name, Fumigación Aérea Andaluza, S.A. This family company is located in Palma del Rio, Córdoba. In the beginning, the company provided plant protection services all over Andalusia. During the first twenty years the company focused on this activity, task that required a considerable number of aircrafts. Until 1984, Faasa basically had light size and medium-weight aircrafts.

    Forest defense and aerial surveillance

    In 1984, the company had twenty aircraft, when in a pioneering way, Faasa starts the complex task of forest defense and aerial surveillance. Four years later, Faasa became the first company in the Spanish aeronautical market to have two divisions, fixed wigs and helicopters. The first helicopter was located in Andalusia.

    Fleet expansion

    At the beginning of the nineties, the company increased the fleet of helicopters and aircraft in order to increase its services. The company started to provide medical services so they introduced one of the first medical emergency helicopters in Spain.

    In the year 1999, Faasa starts its teaching career, with the Opening of CAENA, Andalusian Center of Aeronautics Teaching. Initially, the teaching was solely directed to Aircraft Maintenance Technicians.

  • Opening of Faasa Chile

    Opening of Faasa Chile

    Years later, in 2005 Faasa entered the international market, specifically in Chile, where Faasa Chile was opened, as a project of internationalization and resource optimization. Faasa Chile mainly offers fire fighting services. However, it develops other activities of air operations as transport of passengers or external load. Their clients are mostly logging companies in order to preserve their forests, and the Chilean Government itself.

    In 2007, Sebastián Almagro Foundation was born, a non-profit organization whose aim is to show the world of aviation as an accessible sector and to make people aware of the importance of being respectful with the environment.

    Opening of the maintenance center of southern europe

    In the same year, the largest Maintenance Center of helicopters of southern Europe was opened, in its main headquarters in Palma del Río. With an area of 3,000 m2, it has capacity to provide simultaneous maintenance up to 10 helicopters. This Center is authorized by Agusta as service station. The other part of the facilities fully houses the new corporate building of the company.

    Last year, together with the multinational Indra, the largest platform for flight training mission and wildfires in Europe was opened, for all agents involved in this scenario, as pilots or squads. Seilaf project (integrated firefighting training system) is located in Aeropolis (Sevilla).
